Can anyone attend a Swanwick Bible Weekend?
The weekend in May is for all ages. Along side the main studies there are exciting sessions organised for the young people, from creche up to age 16, split by school year groups. Swanwick isn't just for families either, there is something for everyone young or old (or somewhere in between!). It's about the whole 'spiritual family'.

Why is it so expensive?
We do not disagree that it is quite expensive – however, many people forget we are in residential accommodation for 2 full days (Friday evening to Sunday teatime) with all meals provided and good accommodation and facilities. It is difficult to find cheaper accommodation of this type for the facilities we need (we have tried). There is also a huge advantage in being in residence together – ongoing fellowship for the whole weekend.

Are there subsidies available if you can't afford the full amount?
Yes. Through the generosity of the brotherhood we have access to funds which can help to fund the difference between what you can afford and the actual cost. Please do not be put off by costs. Please just get in touch.

Will my ecclesia help to pay some of the costs?
It depends on your ecclesia, but many have a policy of helping to find part or even all of the cost for spiritual welfare, e.g. study weekends, such as Swanwick. Why not ask them?

Do children pay the full amount?
No - there are reduced charges for children and we put a ceiling on the total cost for a family. See the prices page.

Is there a reduced price for students?
Yes. Young people and students who are currently in full-time education need only pay around 50% of the cost. View prices.

Is it true that if you do not know anybody it's hard to cope?
It depends on you! On average there's usually around 200 people at a Swanwick weekend, although there has been as many as 400+ people at its peak. Obviously it helps if you know a few people already. Why not come with a friend? As with all social situations, you have to make the effort to talk to people. But there are plenty of times, like option groups and mealtimes, when you can sit on a different table and get to know new faces. Swanwick is actually a very friendly atmosphere. Please don't be put off.

Is it true that the food is terrible?
Far from it - most people say the food is really good these days. The horror stories belong to 50+ years ago, when school meals were also legendary!

Will the studies be above my head?
It depends where your head is! We invite experienced speakers who we can be confident will expound God''''s word faithfully and pitch their talks at the right level for the audience. We want to challenge you; we want you to increase your knowledge and understanding of the Bible; but we also want you to benefit from the studies and will try to ensure they can be enjoyed by all-ages.
Why not have a look through the media library and download any of the 1000+ Bible talks from Swanwick over the years?

Who leads the sessions for the under-16s?
We put great effort into getting the best teachers available for each age-group. Each session is led by a team of enthusiastic brothers and sisters who have experience of teaching children in this way. We have excellent feedback about how much the children and young people enjoy their sessions. The children really do have an amazing weekend meeting new friends and learning new things.
